PICASSO by Roarke, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Picasso. My favorite painting by this artist is called "The Three Musicians". I created my own painting inspired by this artist. My painting is called "The Three Athletes". My artist worked in Europe in the 1800's. He painted in several different styles and liked to work with shapes.

LEONARDO DA VINCI by Christian, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Leonardo da Vinci. My favorite painting by this artist is "Mona Lisa". I created my own painting inspired by this artist, called "Grandpa in the Chair". My artist worked in Italy in the 1500's. Leonardo da Vinci wasn't just an artist, he was also an architect and and inventor.

VAN GOGH by Chelsea, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Vincent van Gogh. My favorite painting is called "The Twelve Sunflowers". I created my own painting inspired by this art called "Midnight Moon". My artist worked in France in the late 1800's. He shot himself in the chest and died two days later.

MATISSE by Caroline

The artist I studied is Henri Matisse. My favorite painting is called "Composition Blue Background". I created my own art inspired by this artist. My painting is also called "Composition Blue Background". Matisse worked in Paris in the 1900's and was friends with Picasso.

O"KEEFFE by Tony, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Georgia O'Keeffe. My favorite painting by O'Keeffe is "Summer Days". I created my own art inspired by this artist. My painting is called "R.O.S.E. Reasons of Something Else". Georgia O'Keefe was born in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

JANET FISH by Ellis, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Janet Fish. My favorite painting by Fish is called "Fallen Vase". I created my own painting inspired by this artist. It is called "Vlassic Pickle Flyer". Janet FIsh worked in Bermuda and New York in the mid and late 1900's. She was one of the first women to receive her Master's of Fine Arts from Yale.

VAN GOGH by Ka"Neisha, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Vincent van Gogh. My favorite painting by van Gogh is called "Twelve Flowers". I created my own art inspired by this artist. My painting is called "Colorful". Van Gogh worked in France in his house. He had a brother named Theo who became a preacher.

GRANDMA MOSES by Jon Luc, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Anna Mary Robertson, also known as Grandma Moses. My favorite painting is "Beautiful World". I created my own painting inspired by Grandma Moses' work, my painting is called "Home on the Water". Grandma Moses lived from 1860-1961. I was not alive at that time so I never got to see her in real life.

CHAGALL by Matthew, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Marc Chagall. My favorite painting by Chagall is called "Red Rooster". I created my own art inspired by this artist. My painting is called "Gangster Animals". Marc Chagall worked in a small village. When he was 10, Marc wanted to be a violinist or a dancer.

KANDINSKY by Alexis H, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Wassily Kandinsky. My favorite painting by that artist is called "Turkish Cafe". I created my own painting inspired by this art, called "The Leafy Room". My artist worked in Germany in the early 1900's, but had to leave Germany when the World War broke out.

WARHOL by Dray, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Andy Warhol. My favorite painting by Warhol is called "Boat". I created my own art inspired by this artist. My painting is called "Superman Rocks". Warhol studied at teh Carnegie Institute of Technology and worked in New York City in the late 1900's.

HOKUSAI by Anna, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Katsushika Hokusai. My favorite painting by Hokusai is "Weeping Cherry and Bullfinch". I created my own art inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Bird inthe Mountains". Hokusai worked in Japan in the mid 1800's. Hokusai changd his last name at least 25 times in his lifetime and he drew comics as a young boy.

EDWARD HOPPER by Elise, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Edward Hopper. My favorite painting by Hopper is called "Rooms by the Sea". I have created my own painting, inspired by this art, called "Bland House". Edward Hopper worked in New York in the late 1800's. He drew over 50 drawings!

JASPER JOHNS by Leanne, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Jasper Johns. My favorite painting by Johns is called "The Map". I created my own painting inspired by this art--I call my painting "Target with Four Faces". Jasper Johns worked in the United States in the 1900's. He liked to put lots of color in his paintings.

GRANT WOOD by Jack, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Grant Wood. My favorite painting by Wood is called "Every Small Town is Somebody's Universe". I created my own painting inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Landscape". Wood worked in the United States in the 1900's. He loved to draw all about the land and the environment.

CEZANNE by Angie, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Paul Cezanne. My favorite painting of his is called "The Blue Vase". I created my own art inspired by this artist. My painting is called "Bogo Watermelon". Cezanne worked in France in the late 1800's. Even though everyone always told him he was a good artist, Cezanne was never sure if he believed it.

HARING by Chris, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Keith Haring. My favorite painting by this artist is untitled. I created my own painting inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Gangster". My artist worked in New York City in the alte 1900's. I thought it was interesting that he didn't move to New York until he was 20 years old.

MAGRITTE by Natasha, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Rene Magritte. My favorite painting by Magritte is "Le Blanc". I created my own art inspired by this artist--I call my painting "The Lone Road". Magritte lived to be 90 years old.

WARHOL by Grace, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Andy Warhol. My favorite painting by this artist is called "Sam". I created my own painting inspired by this artist, I call it "Pink Giraffe". Warhol studied at the Carnigie Institute in Pittsburg in the 1900's. He was famous for his pop art and cartoons. He had 25 cats, all named Sam, which inspired many paintings.

O'KEEFFE by Bernardo, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Georgia O'Keeffe. My favorite painting by Georgia O'Keeffe is called "Evening Star 3". I created my own art inspired by this artist and I call my painting "Ladder to the Evening Star". O'Keeffe worked in New Mexico in the late 1900's, but she was born in Wisconsin.

KEITH HARING by Jacob, 5th grade

THe artist I studied is Keith Haring. My favorite painting by this artist is untitled, but I created my own painting inspired by this artist and I titled it "Crazy Joe". My artist worked in New York City in the 1900's. One interesting fact I learned about Keith Haring is that he liked to wear the same sneakers every day.

MONET by Amanda, 5th grade

The artist I picked for my project is Claude Monet. The painting I most liked by Monet is a beautiful painting called "Water Lilies". I made my own painting inspired by this artist, which I call "Lily Pad". Monet worked in Paris, France. He became a practicing artist in the late 1800's. Monet spent 66 years of his life dedicated to painting.

KATSUSHIKA HOKUSAI by Max, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Hokusai. My favorite painting by Hokusai is called "South Wind and Clear Sky". I created my own art inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Mount Maximum". Hokusai worked in Japan in the late 1800's. He created more than 30,000 illustrations and prints.

DA VINCI by Alexzandra, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Leonardo da Vinci. My favorite painting by that artist is "Mona Lisa". I created my own artwork inspired by this painting--I call my painting "Sponge-a-Lisa". Da Vinci was Italian and painted in the late 1400's and early 1500's.

ROMERO by Jade, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Frank Romero. My favorite painting by Romero is called "Collective Mural". I created my own art inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Jade-tastic". Frank Romero worked in Los Angeles, CA in the 1900's. He painted murals in California.

KLEE by Sidnee, 5th grade

The artist I chose to study is Paul Klee. My favorite painting by that artist is called "Child's Play". I created my own art inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Mysterious Thing". Paul Klee worked in Germany in the late 1800's. An interesting fact about Paul Klee--his uncle was the fattest man in Switzerland in 1886!

DALI by Brandon, 5th grade


The artist I studied is Salvador Dali. My favorite painting by Dali is called "The Persistence of Memory". I created my own painting inspired by this artwork--I call it "The Melting Clock". Salvador Dali painted in Spain and France in the early 1900's. He was friends with Harpo Marx.

LEONARDO DA VINCI

The artist I Studied is Leonardo da Vinci. My favorite painting by da Vinci is called "Mona Lisa". I created my own art inspired by some of da Vinci's drawings. My painting is called "Big Wave". Leonardo da Vinci worked in Italy in the late 1400's and early 1500's. He worked on flying machines and waterworks.

DAVID HOCKNEY By Madi, 5th grade

The artist I studied is David Hockney. My favorite painting by Hockney is "Road to Studio". I created my own art inspired by this artist. It is called "Road to Patterns". David Hockney worked in England in the late 1900's. He was crazy in painting but I loved the patterns he used.

LEONARDO DA VINCI by Morgan, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Leonardo da Vinci. My favorite painting is called "Mona Lisa". I created my own art inspired by some of da Vinci's drawings--I call it "Things that Might Happen". da Vinci worked in the late 1400's in Italy. He lived with his dad, his grandpa and his uncle and he was never married.

MATISSE by Olivia, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Henri Matisse. My favorite painting by matisse is called "The Parakeet and the Mermaid". I created my own painting inspired by this artist. I call my painting "Sharks Swimming at Sundown". Matisse worked in France in the 1900's. I think it is cool that he was friends with Picasso and that he uses paper cutouts to make some of his art.

MONET by Cameron, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Claude Monet. My favorite painting by Monet is called "London Sun Through Fog". I created my own art inspired by this painting--I call my painting "View of Pride". Monet worked in an artist supply shop in the late 1800's as he was becoming an artist. he was an artist who combined colors a lot.

JOHNS by Leif, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Jasper Johns. My favorite painting by Johns is called "What is Falling?". I created my own painting inspired by this art--I call also call it "What is Falling?". Johns worked in New York in the late 1900's.

The artist I studied is Vincent van Gogh. My favorite painting by van Gogh is called "Sunflowers". I created my own art inspired by this painting--I call it "Floating Flowers". Vincent van Gogh worked in France in the late 1800's. He was born in Holland in 1853 and had a brother named Theo.

The artist I studied is Pablo Picasso. My favorite painting by Picasso is called "Still Life with Cherries". I created my own art inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Cherryful Life". Picasso worked in Paris in the mid to late 1900's. He was born in southern Spain on October 25, 1881 and he died at age 91 in 1973.

O'KEEFFE by Eimear, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Georgia O'Keeffe. My favorite painting by this artist is called "Gigantic Flowers". I created my own painting inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Sun Flowers". Georgia O'Keeffe worked in Chicago, New York and New Mexico in the 1900's. Her first art lesson was when she was 12 years old.

The artist I studied is Paul Klee. My favorite painting by Paul Klee is called "Rose Wind". I created my own art inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Blue Dream". Paul Klee worked in Germany in the late 1800's and the early 1900's. His childhood was filled with music. He married a wonderful lady named Lily Stompt. Paul Klee was a very fascinating artist to study.

MONET by Dallas, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Claude Monet. My favorite painting by Monet is called "The Japanese Bridge". I created my own painting inspired by this-- call it "The Monk on the Japanese Bridge". My artist worked in France in the late 1800's. After one year in Paris he was called up to do his military service, but he always wanted to be an artist...and so he did.

The artist I studied is Claude Monet. My favorite painting by Monet is called "The Japanese Bridge". I created my own painting inspired by this art. I call it "The Perry". I think it is interesting that Monet loved to paint water.

The artist I studied is Vincent van Gogh. My favorite painting by this artist is called "Sunflowers". I created my own artwork inspired by this painting. I call it "Red Flowers". Van Gogh worked in France in the late 1800's.

Klee by Miranda, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Paul Klee. My favorite painting by Klee is called "Reckless Haste". I created my own art inspired by this artwork--I call my painting "Crazy Person". Paul Klee worked in Switzerland and Germany in the early 1900's. He had a cat named Bimbo.

Warhol by Sydney, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Andy Warhol. My favorite painting by Andy is called "Flowers 1964". I created my own art inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Summer Flowers". Warhol worked in New York. When he was 39 a mentally ill lady from one of his films shot him three times with a revolver--and Andy Warhol lived!

Van Gogh by Anthony, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Vincent van Gogh. My favorite painting by Van Gogh is "Starry Night". I created my own art inspired by VanGogh. My painting is called "London". My artist worked in France in the late 1800's. He made 100's of paintings, but only sold one in his lifetime.

Hopper by Shawn, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Edward Hopper. My favorite painting by that artist is called "Landscape and Light on Cape Cod". I created my own painting inspired by this art--I call it "House on the Beach". My artist worked in the United States in the mid 1900's. he died in 1967.

Warhol by Cameron, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Andy Warhol. My favorite painting by Warhol is called "Dollar Sign". I created my own painting inspired by this art--I call my painting "Golden Dollar". My artist worked in New York City in the mid and late 1900's. He sometimes wore a silver wig.

O'Keeffee by Jessica, 5th grade



The artist I studied is Georgia O'Keeffee. My favorite painting by O'Keeffee is called "Summer Days". I created my own art inspired by this artist--I call my painting "Baby Face". Georgia O'Keeffe worked in the US in New York and New Mexico in the 1900's. She was born November 15, 1887 and died in 1986.

Edward Hopper by Andrew, 5th grade

The artist I studied was Edward Hopper. My favorite painting by Hopper is called "The Gas Station". I created my own painting called "Birthday". My artist worked in New York and I thought it was interesting that as a boy he loved sailing on the Hudson River.

Cezanne by Taryn, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Paul Cezanne. My favorite painting by Cezanne is called "The Blue Vase". I created my own art inspired by this art--I call mine "Simple Fruits". Paul Cezanne worked in hiw hometown Aix-en-Provence, in the south of France in the late 1800's. He died in 1906 and when he died--he was working on a painting.

Picasso by Daphne, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Pablo Picasso. My favorite painting by that artist is called "Francoise". I created my own painting inspired by this art. I call it "Blue Eyes". My artist worked in Spain and passed the Academy of Art with flying colors. He was born in 1881 and died in 1973 at the age of 91.

Georgia O'Keeffe by Chase, 5th grade

The artist I studied is Georgia O'Keeffee. My favorite painting by that artist is called "Summer Days". I created my own painting inspired by this art--I call it "Ladder to the Moon". My artist worked in America in the 1900's. Georgia O'Keeffe died in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1986.
