This year's 5th grade students participated in a patriotic arts program as part of our preparation for the 2012 presidential election and a grant for the arts from Target. Their artwork is reflective of everything they experienced: attending "Rock the Presidents" at the Philharmonic Center, visiting US History web sites in technology, and learning patriotic songs in music. Students worked in groups, using paper we had painted in the style of Eric Carle, and created their patriotic collages...
